I tired taking a sunset shot a few days ago. The smoke hangs low to the ground, and it is pretty dense. There isn't a good sunset shot with it. You do however get a more red sun, which isn't bright.
I was hoping for an effect where the sun reflects off some clouds. I guess a lot of the awesome colours, that is usually associated clouds and sunset is due to the moisture in clouds. There is nothing in this smoke. I hate it!
