i donno about msn, i havent used msn messenger in over five years. i text and email most of the time, sometimes use aim/gtalk through a jabber client. aim is also available for the iphone. the biggest drawback to using any instant messenger is trying you get your business contacts to use it, most people prefer the look/feel of a BBM like client, theres a sense of security and professionalism. also some people dont like to mix personal IM with business. i dont think msn does groups does it? with BBM you can create conferences (group chats by invite) and permanent groups where all members can chat and receive updates.
