I agree with real rain gear, if I had to ride 30min+ in rain I wold stop and wear rain gear over my gear. Yet for these pants I want something waterproof in a drizzle, or a 5 min surprise shower for those days when there is a 60% chance of showers yet it only rains for a few mins.

Trust me, I rode in Poco looking for a tag once more than 2 hrs. I rode back from Okanagan and I got dumped on from Hope. My touring jacket

Water was coming into my gloves from the outside because of the rain pounding on it. My textile pants were wet and I felt like I peed myself. A little pond inside my boots.
It depends on your ride too. I like long distance so it is a must. Every likes to look good too but for me function/safety overrides everything else....I better go get my real rain gears soon now!
