he means a cross platform messaging app, such as whatsapp that allows people to chat even though they dont use the same phone. some might say why not just use text/msn but apps like this works better for international chatting that is not as memory intensive/draining on the phone as msn apps. the fact that everyone is based on numbers + autoadded based on your phone book helps too
