I'm a shooting guard so this shoe gives me everything, the sole is very flexible which is the most important thing to a guard, so I get good lateral movement, stability, and it's the lightest basketball shoe around. Only thing that sucks about the shoe is weak ankle support, but that doesn't bother me because I wear ankle braces.
The newer model would be the Air Max Hyperize, same thing except a bit heavier because of the air bubbles on the soles. I'm currently trying to get ahold of the Air Max hyperize below in the last 3 pics but they aren't on sale yet.

Damn those new hyperize looks nice. Too bad I wouldnt be able to wear them for bball.
For basketball shoes, (assuming your buying the shoes to play ball) its personal preferences, how well you can move in them, and are you relaxed in them (in the shoes for a long time)
I would look at the ankle support (do you need it, or does your ankle have to be free?, is there a thick or thin sole etc.
I am currently wearing the kobe zooms. I like it because its hella light. The bad thing about it is the soles pretty thick. ( I like shoes that are not elevated)
