Torres:
He said he chose to sign with Vancouver for one simple reason — he believes the team can contend for the Stanley Cup.


"It doesn't look like they are far away from that," Torres said. "I thought it was a great opportunity for me to come and help out, do whatever I can to pitch in. With the goaltending and the defence and obviously I will be playing with a bunch of top forwards there, it is a team that I think is very close to making that next step and becoming a championship team."
