I tried. He isn't a "real" dealer where he has the funds to go get cars for people and hope to be paid back. He has a business license and said he uses it to help friends and family get better deals on cars. I didn't wire him the money right away. I took a week to research him and didn't see anything bad. Now I know I should have used some better search words

Yes that's correct. He said he would pay for shipping and give me some parts as a sponsorship deal so I could represent his shop. I have little kids and I'm busy at work so I can't leave work and fly off to buy a car and drive it back like I used to. I trusted him to take care of me.
