They aren't too hard to maintain. To start, you need a cage and a litter box, which can vary in prices, but to maintain them per month, so far it's been very cheap.
Small bag of hay - $10 Lasts a week or so. You can find places that sell the hay in bulk for cheap.
Carefresh (for the litter box) - $20-30. A large bag Lasts a couple of weeks.
Bunnies have special unscented shampoo to wash them with, but we end up just using normal shampoo that isn't overly scented and bathe the bunny while we shower sometimes.
