I feel for you buddy. $40k is a lot of money especially when you have a family to support. But you need to man up a bit yourself. Give the guy some firm deadlines. When you ask him for pictures or copies of the invoice, tell him that you want it by a specific date. The car delivery, again, give him a firm date. You almost come off as a bit too lenient and he seems to be taking full advantage of it.

I'd also suggest you keep all txt msgs between you and him and voice record any conversations with him. You main communication should be over the phone rather than txt. Text msgs are for children. GL with the situation.
