Got the dsi, dsi lite and psp3000/go. The web surfing experience on those devices were agonizing at best. Things take way too long to load and tons of missing frames due to lack of plugins. The iPod touch is 100x better.
However, after getting the iPad I would say that the itouch is only "ok".
It really depends on your needs. If you are mainly looking for a solid gaming platform then it would have to be a pspgo with the ff7,8 gow, crisis core, dissidia etc. It still does minimal web surfing and mp3 playback but it's cumbersome and not as good as an iPod.
If it's mainly for web, music and the casual 30min or so "time killer" games then go with itouch for max portability or an iPad if you don't mind carrying a small bag.
