I've told him repeatedly what's going to happen and he appears to be concerned and does not want it to go that far but he obviously does not care or is planning to flee to another country or something I don't know.

The "I know your good people and i just want to make the deal right" just sounds way to familar too me.
One of those lines he loves to use.
