No, I think he did. Let's think about it this way: a decent number of chicks who watch porn (not consumers, those who watch their significant others' stuff) will be willing to watch or interested in lesbian or girl-on-girl porn.
Switch it around: when was the last time you've known any guy to openly say "yeah, I've seen some guys fucking each other. I wanted to know what it was like, I thought it was kind of cool".
He's right, for women a 'sliding scale' is more acceptable, while for men the perception is that it must be black or white, gay or straight.
You can be a straight girl who eats another chick's tongue, can't be a straight guy who eats another guy's.
