I know the ages on this board are typically on the younger side but that's the price of living in Vancouver.

I'm making around $80,000 a year and it's enough for me to live a pretty basic lifestyle.

If I had a girlfriend, and she wanted to have an average home and a yard for the kids to play in, guess what? My $80,000 a year isn't going to cut it unless I want to move to Abbotsford and spend 4 hours a day in a car that's going to be something crappy because again, that's what $80k gets you in this city.

Keep in mind you should be saving for your retirement and stuff as well and tax here is a bitch so I can see what's up for a lot of women getting close to 30. Especially if they want to have kids.

I've got a few friends on this board that make a lot more money than myself, one of them is banned, and even with their high income, life is not easy in this city.

One is a dentist and couldn't even get a job unless they moved to Chilliwack because there are so many dentists in Vancouver. $100k in debt making $160k a year sounds great but the guy is like 29 and has a wife and kid. He had some dream of driving a Porsche once he became a dentist.

Yeah good luck with that.

I can't even afford a hot girlfriend in Vancouver and probably end up with some fatty that I'm unattracted to just because we live in a city that costs so much and pays us bullshit wages.
