As long as it is an Intel based MacBook, you're good to go. Just buy the Snow Leopard install DVD. $35.00.

As a side note, the Snow Leopard upgrade does not require a Leopard Operating System like the instructions state. You can install directly onto the laptop from whatever version of OS X you have. Back up everything first and then do a clean install. Clean installs are always better. And........ don't let the techs at Apple convince you that you need anything else. They don't want people to know the update is a full install. Just make sure your Mac is an Intel based Mac.
