I don't think that a combined income of 6-figures is that hard to reach actually. A person with 5 years of experience in their industry should be banking 50K. The typical Asian kid who went to university straight out of high school should easily have 5 years of experience by the time he hits 30. I would say that the large majority of my friends are at this income (in some cases higher) and almost all of them are just typical middle class kids who grew up in East Van and have some post-secondary education.
I do think that getting to the 80-90K barrier is pretty significant and to be making this type of income under 30 is very good.
