^ it's generally for the safety of pedestrians and postal workers. when i shovel snow i place it either on the lawn or somewhere else out of the way of pedestrians and traffic.
has anyone else lived on a major street before? back in 2008 i did, and everytime the plow trucks passed by, my driveway would be blocked by snow again
