Figured out how to save all of us $30 by remapping the keys instead of buying a new keyboard.

1) Download SharpKeys

http://www.randyrants.com/sharpkeys3.msi

2) Install

3) Run, below the LEFT column, click on "Type Key", push the " : \ " key that you want to remap (to the right of the left shift key)

4) below the RIGHT column, click on "Type Key", push the "left shift" key that you wanted originally

5) Apply/Ok all the menus

6) Reboot

7) ???????

8) Profit / Thank me

so to sum it up, this remaps the (| \) key as the left shift?
