boss_clad was just saying that, most people, given the circumstance, would have walked away if they heard a bunch of drunk idiots calling him names. What the douche did was stupid and uncalled for, but, if it were me, I would have kept walking. Maybe the Op was drunk as well. In the end, he shouldn;t have been punched, but would you walk in a dark alley in the middle of the night in downtown with a pocket full of cash??
