Plus, even if you do confront them and get into a fight, and you win, what then? Big deal. You could possibly even get charged in the aftermath.

IMO, it wasn't about getting into a fight and it wasn't about winning. I assume if the OP was looking for a fight, or looking for a confrontation, I doubt he would be whipping out his camera. To me that just doesn't make sense.
