Just keep in mind that the Kindle isn't really compatible with reading PDF's, that was her only complaint cause a lot of ebooks come in PDF form if you're dling them via torrents. The Kobo (from Chapters) is PDF compatible, it's 149$ with Wifi

Yep, Kindle is Amazon-exclusive. I got mine way before Christmas rush, much better idea.

That's right - got a lot of free PDF eBooks (Thank you Baen!) and then emailed them over to my Kindle that way.
