When I was a kid (late 80s and early 90s), Boxing Day used to be a good time to buy electronics as you could get stuff that was marked down over 50%. That was when A&B Sound was still king around here. I digress...
Anyway, you don't necessarily have to wait until Boxing Day to get the best deal on a TV. You should first settle on a price range and type of TV you want. Second, you should take the time to browse the Hot Deals forum on Red Flag Deals for the next 2-3 weeks to get a sense of what TVs are going for. Once you narrow your choices to a couple of models, do a search on them on that forum to see what the lowest price on them was. If you don't find anything cheaper, then check out the Boxing Week flyers and compare.
If you are going to pull the trigger during Boxing Day, book a day off on Christmas Eve and be prepared to have several screens open at FS/BB/Visions, etc. Their websites crash as a result of the traffic.
