I've been pretty lucky so far. My "puppy" is turning 12 this year and is still relatively healthy (had surgery to remove kidney stone last year and came out good as new). He takes more naps than he used to, but during playtime and walks, he's still as perky as he ever was (people are still asking how old my puppy is when I take him for walks and are surprised when I tell them he's turning 12 ). I'm dreading the day I will have to consider putting him down...my wife is telling me to start preparing myself mentally for it now, lol
