Never really got them for scratch protection, my 2g iphone I used for 2 years only had a tiny scratch on the screen from the previous owner and the iphone 4 is supposed to be a lot stronger?
I'm using an anti-glare screen protector and it works wonders when you're eating etc, or lending it to someone with sweaty/oily fingers, I definitely recommend it for that reason cause you avoid a lot of that nastiness/awkwardness :P
Also doesn't seem to affect the resolution like it has on my laptop. On the laptop I still keep it though just because when it gets dusty I can just wipe it with my hand and it won't smudge anything or leave fingerprints
