When your hobby/interest becomes your career it loses its appeal pretty quick.
Find a versatile degree that kinda interests you. As you go to school you will learn about many niche jobs out their that might cater to your interests/strengths.

A semi interesting 9-5 job that pays decent enough to allow you to turn wrenches on your project car beats turning wrenches 9-5 with no end in sight. (all imho )
