I run quite a bit, started in gr 12 when I stopped swimming and gained a boat load of weight. I guess at that time, and today even, my way of improving endurance is simply to run on a consistent basis, and just challenging yourself every day. For me, I run on treadmills so I can literally see how fast I'm running. So say if I ran 30mins at 10.2 k/hr today, then maybe tmr I'll go 20mins @ 10.2 and 10 @ 10.4. I know its probably not the best way to do it but for me I just aim for consistency and longevity, so I strive for gradual improvements.

I run on nike lunar(something), Mizunos are good shoes, the guys that run runners' shops say the "legit" runners shun nike and go for mizunos and such (granted I was in a runners' shop in HK). I used to run in a pair of adidas, they were terrific cuz they were extremely light and durable. To be 100% honest I don't love my lunarwhatevers, but the look of it is so damn enticing!
