I'm sure they do.
That said, the dealerships aren't much better. When I had an older car I used to just do everything on it myself but then I viewed it as a disposable vehicle so if I screwed it up, well what ever. My newer car... not so much so rock and a hard place. Also I don't live in a house any more but an apartment and we're not permitted to do auto work on site as per our property management.
I find, sadly, I pay the least if I have my dad take my car into the dealership for me, which I HATE. I used do it myself and then point out after the fact that the had done more than I asked or were not doing what I'd asked but it becomes a head ache having to argue with the mechanic every time you need an oil change or any kind of service. Or to have to say no 60,000 times to extra crap they're trying to foist off on me and the accompanying bullying and/or guilt trip.
I don't think you guys have any idea how lucky you are given how completely backwards and sexist the whole industry STILL is.
