The router isn't your problem... if you have 2 computers on the same network trying to talk to each other its all direct communication through a switch, which might be built into the router but none of the data is being 'routed'.
First thing, turn off the windows firewall's completely and try again.
find the ip address of computer A (start>run>cmd>ipconfig) then go to computer B and in the address bar of my computer put in \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx make sure its a back slash.
if you still get nothing, make sure you actually have file sharing enabled in control panel>network.
