I've had issues with Seagate Ext HD's like no other. I wouldn't recommend them.

Mind you, I've had one for 3+ years, and the other for 2ish, both are starting to "click" and not be recognized when plugged in. They work good for short periods of time, but if you are transferring large amounts (i.e. 400 GB), they don't handle it too well.

Just my .02

I am thinking about getting a WD in the near future....WD Blue in particular. Have to do more research for a bulletproof external...
