I dunno, I've seen the reviews of the Viewsonic and I can see why it sells for so cheap. Can't charge through the USB port and have to use the supplied adapter? Need to sideload apps because you don't have access to the Market? And it lacks the fit & finish of an iPad.

Might be a good tablet for people who aren't afraid of customizing or loading their own software. But the average consumer wants something that works out-of-the-box, not something that needs "updating" to make it work really well.

Apparently, rumurs are that Sears and Staples aren't happy with the G Tablet for this very reason, since the people who shop their aren't tech-savvy and they're having "support" issues.
