im sorry, but i just have to LOL at a lot of these posts
i run a seafood wholesale company. i supply sun sui wah, lucky tao, shiang garden and a lot of local seafood retailers with live king crab. my company is one of the big 4 live king crab suppliers in bc.
EVERY restaurant you go to will scam you. some more than others. you cant look at just the price. trust me.
for example, Sun sui wah restaurant, is charging $16.49 per lbs. the absolute most they will scam you is approx 1 lb. the food is great there, service is good, ambiance is good.
another restaurant, be it, fortune garden, lucky tao, imperial court, will charge, say $10.99. BUT, on average, they will scam you MINIMUM 3 lbs.
you go to these "cheaper" places, it still works out to be approx the same. but you are missing out on better food/service
ANY restaurant that tells u 13 lbs+ is lying out their ass. 90% of ALL catch so far this year in alaska is under 10 lbs. and at that, the average weight of king crab in vancouver is approx 6.5-8.5 lbs.
