Burnaby RCMP are recommending charges against two teens and a 22-year-old arrested after the rush-hour shooting at the Royal Oak Skytrain station Tuesday. One of the arrests is pictured left in this RCMP handout photo.
The 22-year-old was the gunman, Sgt. Ted De Jager said. Names of the two older suspects will be released when they are formally charged and make their first appearance. The identity of the youngest suspect, whose 15, is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Three men arrested in Royal Oak SkyTrain shooting
Police will be recommending charges of attempted murder against one of the men
VANCOUVER -- Three people have been arrested in connection with a daytime shooting at Royal Oak SkyTrain station Tuesday afternoon.
A 22-year-old Surrey man believed to be the shooter, along with an 18-year-old from Burnaby and a 15-year-old from an undetermined area, were arrested around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday after a short pursuit, said Sgt. Ted De Jager of the Burnaby RCMP.
"When we attempted to arrest them [at a Surrey residence] they attempted to flee in a vehicle," De Jager said. "They abandoned that vehicle and a short foot pursuit with the three of them ensued and they were arrested together."
Police will be recommending charges of attempted murder against the 22-year-old, De Jager said. Charges are pending against the other two suspects.
Police received multiple 911 calls around 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday after a 22-year-old Surrey man was shot while ascending the stairs to the central Royal Oak SkyTrain station platform. The man, who suffered non-life-threatening-injuries, then boarded a train to Edmonds station, where police attended to him.
De Jager said it is too early to say whether there are any links to drugs or gangs.
"We know that it was a targeted shooting but exactly what their relationship to each other is, and what they're involved in, that's something that we'll have to continue to investigate," De Jager said.
De Jager did not know if the victim was being cooperative with police.

Another Fatal Police Shooting in Surrey

By Kim Bolan 23 Mar 2011 COMMENTS(3) The Real Scoop
Just weeks after Adam Purdie was fatally shot when he pointed a gun at a Surrey RCMP officer, another Surrey man has been killed in a police shooting.
Vancouver Police are now investigating the shooting. Const. Lindsey Houghton said RCMP responded to a 911 call about 2 p.m. from a female asking for help with domestic dispute. Neighbours reported seeing a woman flee from the house and jump over a neighbour's fence.
