imo in vancouver you dont really need to dress yourself like an eskimo to be warm.

If i was you i would just buy 2 smaller jackets that you can layer for those extra cold days.

Make sure you buy a shell that is water/wind proof..

then buy some light/not bulky form of insulation.. like polartec or primaloft..

companies like columbia or TNF have 3in1 sets similar to this concept of layering..

buying separately will be more expensive but you can cater to your style and get overall better performance
