I used Priceline and Hotels.com if I have to find a place in Seattle.

Nevertheless, after like 30 times down to Seattle, I really don't see anything in Seattle to worth the hassle of staying there. For shopping, you are better off hitting Portland. Sightseeing in Seattle can be a day trip. And once you done through the city, the 2.5hr drive back to Van really isn't that energy-consuming.
