The Canucks have faced 3-1 deficits before (against the Jets, Flames, Blues, Rangers) and the common element to all of these series was that those teams had a will to win.
I've seen none of it over the last 2 games and there is no evidence that the team will turn it around on Sunday or Tuesday.
Most of us who've played sports competitively shit the bed sometimes with a bad game, race, etc. But, I bet most of us never come up with 2 terrible games, races, etc. in a row unless you're dealing with injuries. You might not win the second game, but you always put in a better effort. With the Canucks, there is simply no explanation to have 2 bad games in a row with absolutely no effort at the biggest time of the year. What's most obvious is that the team has failed mentally. Where does the blame lie? Does it lie in the Sedins and Kesler? Does it lie in the coaching staff? Who knows? But, Gillis' stomach must be really turning as the core parts of the team he has heavily invested in have now failed 3 years in a row.
