Ever heard of the tyranny of the majority? 51% is still very low to be deciding what every Canadian wants.

For the Conservatives to win a majority they have to be > 40% and that would just barely squeak one out. Realistically they'll need > 45% and then it'd be closer to the magic 50% you want for "democracy".
