but you're right - you're not in her comfort zone. she just wants her friends around because it'd be way too awkward between the both of you (for now). just stay cool and don't forget to talk to her friends so they're ALL comfortable around you.
find out if her friends got dates to prom as well. that way she wouldn't feel excluded from her group. there's no wrong in going to prom without a date - could be even better than going with her and her friends.
but end of the night, week, or school year, go balls deep and let her know.
