Credits is through negotiating...i negotiated for 2x $5 credit towards my plan by saying that I had been a customer for over 7 years and I'm a poor student
Mind you, not all the CSR's may give you the credits. If they don't offer you what you want in the first try, tell them you want to think about it and call them another day. My second try got me the second $5 credit. However, don't call them too much as they may flag you.
I bought myself an unlocked HTC Legend so telling them I didn't need the Iphone may have helped in my negotiating. Also, I said I was willing to sign a 3 year contract, but the CSR just signed me up for 2 years
Google "fido retention plan redflagdeals" and you should be able to find a thread regarding all the available options! It definitely helped me
