The older I get, the more and more I realize how much my parents got right. A lot of advice they have given me wasn't bullshit because they had gone through all the shit I dealt with now but 20 years removed.
The real issue is the fact that individuals who had immigrated from other countries not only have to deal with a generational/time gap, they have to deal with a cultural divide as well. So now you are dealing with both a different timeset and an entirely contrasting worldview to contend with your parents.
