from experience of 2 gaming notebooks. the only purpose is to game for short bursts while your away from home. constantly gaming on a laptop in excess of 2hrs at a time drastically shortens the life of the laptop. So don't be surprised if your laptop can't game after a year of gaming like its a desktop. don't get me wrong it will still work but you'll find it overheats a lot faster.

I doubt any extended warranty is going to cover extended gaming sessions over the course of year because that will simply fall under normal wear and tear and/or abuse.

If you play any games that are graphically intensive and plan on playing for 3+ hours on a regular/almost daily basis get yourself a really good desktop to handle games at max settings and an average laptop that will handle the same game at min settings for your on the road gaming.

my 2 cents.

You might get away having a small air conditioner blow air right through your laptop. (above the keyboard and underneath the base in 1 direction ) that will keep everything nice and ice cold, but it'll be loud and your hands will be super cold .
