India is a little bit behind the times. Remember most of the country is still pretty poor. Now slowly they are gaining a bit of wealth and they want to be like the rest of the world, but unfortunately they tend to go a bit overboard on most things.
When I was there earlier this year, I actually commented that I didn't see very much of anything in the way of modified cars like you get here.
But remember in India you can pretty much do whatever the fuck you want when it comes to traffic. Like my uncle who removed his car horn and replaced it with a police siren. lol
