So basically what you found is that it makes no difference for normal people, only nerds that want to squeeze an extra 1% performance...which is basically what you got when you are buying a router flashed with custom open source firmware. I have a DD-WRT running Linksys lying somewhere too.

Awesome. I've been trying to tell you that through common sense. If this was something that regular people needed to know, I'm sure most of us would've heard of it when looking at reviews for wireless routers. Instead, RAM in a router is damn near never mentioned.

What you have here is Asian people marketing shit they know is an obvious oversell to normal people at a low price so that they can't turn it down or else they will have feel like they missed out on a huge performance bonus...one they wouldn't notice before and won't notice now. $5 for more RAM? Better get it or you'll "seet dai".
