Horton hit was a bad one but it wasn't dirty IMO.
He just stood his ground on the blue line and the best guess I can surmise is that he miscalculated (or misread) when Horton was going to dump/pass the puck.
It just seemed he already committed to the hit while Horton was still in possession but I'm guessing he just followed through because I assume that since he's slowing down, if he didn't stand him up and let him through instead, Rome would've been burned on the play defensively.
The major plus game ejection is fine, and good on the Canucks to give Horton the stick tap when he was being carted off but it'd be sad to see if people see this as another example of what's wrong with hockey.
