I was a bit disappointed after the previous interview a while ago where he just seemed to not care and was generally apathetic about the game and his career, seemed like he lost his drive to win and just wanted to forget about that past life completely.

After some time though, I have to say I respect him more for this because has been able to retire in peace, know that he left everything he had on the ice, separate himself from the game, and commit himself to his family and life enjoyment now. As opposed to un-retiring and trying to give 1 more push and have a chance at the cup playing a 4th line role or watching from the press box because his body just doesn't have the ability to compete anymore (not now, but maybe 5-6 years ago when he was freshly retired).

Here's to the greatest Canuck in history (IMO) and probably one of the biggest reasons why I first started following the team when I was a kid.
