Back in 2008, Chevy whipped the Corvette ZR1 around the Nurburgring in an impressive 7:26.4 seconds. Impressive, yes, but the Nissan GT-R was tweaked for 2012 and set a time more than two seconds faster.

And now the 2012 Chevy Corvette, wearing super-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, has accepted the challenge and shaved SIX seconds off of that 7:26.4 run.

Wonder what times will the GTR be if they run with the same cup tires.
