If there's one thing that I've come to understand... no matter how much you'd like to think your situation is unique - that you're both the exception and you think "I know ____ happened to other people, but it's not going to happen to us!". The hard, cold truth is that your situation isn't special and as long as only one person is trying harder than the other - you're headed to failure.
