I heard VACHL is not bad for beginners....Its as rookie as rookie can get. From what I got from watching some games, they seemed to have fun.

As for the other leagues you mentioned, all the other leagues have low tier teams, so its just a matter of choosing whats the most convenient for you.

As for some people, they will critique how good/bad a league is by the officiating, I find it irrelevant at a rookie level. As long as all the calls are made to prevent injury from happening, I say....let the group play. Either that or you will see a lot of frerquent stoppages of play which will slow down a rookie group EVEN MORE.

Lastly, I don't think that the lowest tier in ASHL is truly beginners....Sure its their lowest division, but you may find that it may be not-beginner-enough for you.
