Moreover, AV should be given greater freedom to play the "percentages" (i.e. if Luongo can't play in a certain building for whatever reason, he goes with Schneids and vice versa)

This is what I see happening with our D:
- Gillis lets Erhoff walk if he asks for more than $4 million/year. I believe that if given the confidence, Ballard can fill in for Erhoff (he's just got to focus on making the simple plays in our zone.) He's just as weak defensively, but he has scored 30+ points in this league. The other 20 points can be made up for by committee. Perhaps Edler can learn to hit the net in the off-season?
- Salo takes a 1 year deal for $2.25 million with perhaps a bonus for games played.
- Juice signs a long-term deal in the range of $4.25 million.
- Alberts is let go and Tanev takes the spot of 6/7.
That's what should've happened this year. People can defend Luongo as much as they want, but he clearly doesn't play as well in the playoffs as he does during the regular season. The same could also be said for the team for the most part though
