A couple things I've noticed about most of the cheap HDMI cables I've bought:
1 - Rigid jackets are a pain in the ass if you ever have to route them behind a wall or within a TV stand.
2 - Cheap solder joints, which sometimes causes the connector to come loose. An issue if you tend to connect and disconnect devices often.
I've had an HDMI-to-DVI cable and HDMI cable, both from Monoprice, both have the connections come off. It doesn't really bother me because they were cheap, but I'm just pointing out that sometimes there's a reason why they're so cheap.
I tend to get cables which are flexible, usually pay a bit more for them ($5-$15, depending on length).
