In my experience, GAS on-demand water heaters work really well, until they get to about 10 years old. Electric, I'm not sure, as mine are tank heaters now that I've moved to a place with no gas.

Gas though, you get hot water within seconds, and it lasts until you're done

Not sure about brands though, I have only used these things in HK
