I'm assuming it's just mild steel or aluminized? Completely normal and nothing to worry about. I'm guessing it was mig welded and the weld is most likely thicker than the basemetal and will not rust out for a long time. Even a quick shot of bbq paint will help. Untreated will be ok as well unless you are concerned about the appearance.
